In 2020, there were approximately 64.81 million people living in cities in Bangladesh. And the ratio of urbanized areas is expanding.

Smart Cities increase the quality of life for residents by making cities more livable and sustainable. Smart City concepts must be comprehensive, pluralistic, and citizen-centered, with an emphasis on enhancing services and addressing major urban concerns. Investing on smart cities are more effective and cost efficient and also it increases revenues. Smart city technology, among other things, helps to improve citizen security, increase the efficiency of government management, and encourage openness in government decisions.
